Behind the scenes – Slipknot

Behind the lens.

‘SLIPKNOT’  By Music photographer Paul Harries.

Commisson: Kerrang Magazine 2008

I had a great location set up for a group shot of the band but SID had injured himself during the video shoot. I couldn’t shoot the band with one member missing so I asked Corey if he would mind being photographed on his own. The sun was setting fast in the background and I just had time to fire off around 15 shots before the ambient light went.
This is one of my all time favourite photographs. – Paul Harries

How it was shot:

Using a Bowens PRO 500 Flash head with softbox on a high stand just to the left of Corey.
Shot on Canon 5D MKII on the 24mm setting of the 24-70mm lens and underexposing for the sky.
