One of my favourite ‘up and coming’ artists are a Welsh band named Straight Lines, and luckily I got to photograph them when they played at the Relentless Garage. (Support from Luminaires and The Debut.)

Butserfest was rainy, windy but absolutely fantastic. I had the privilege to photography my 3 favourite bands; Young Guns, Deaf Havana and Lower Than Atlantis all in one day! I also got to photograph alongside Marianne Harris, which was also amazing.

This show happened to fall the day after me and a couple of friends had actually put on a gig for The LaFontaines at a small venue in Glasgow called Nice N Sleazy’s, where on the night I was sadly too busy to shoot them properly. This night however, the guys were playing in bar Bloc as part of Detour and I had my camera with me just incase. Things were all going fine and the night started off what could be considered a fairly normal show – that was until the stripper showed up. Soon after things like baby oil, body lotion and mashmallows started entering the equation, and things went a little, well.. wrong. At one point even the sound guy was pulled onstage and given a racey lapdance (apologising to his girlfriend all throughout). This was one that no matter how hard I try I will probably never forget, and for that reason it’s my No.3.
