Tom Spray: The Raveonettes

On Friday I was shooting The Raveonettes 10th anniversary show at the DR Koncerthuset in Copenhagen for Soundvenue. The evening offered guest apperances from Steen Jørgensen, Glasvegas’ James Allen and a DJ set from Trentmøller on entry.

Samantha Stott: Lostprophets – Brixton Academy – 4/5/2012

Lostprohets are a band that I have loved since I was about 15 however never had the opportunity to see them live until this week. I definitely didn’t expect to be shooting the show but thanks to Ian pulling a few string I managed to get a pass! I have to say they certainly know how to put on a superb show.

Supported by Modstep.

Tom Spray: Vessel

Back in January I shot some portraits of Vessel for a feature in Soundvenue.

Tom Spray: Rufus Wainwright

Last week I was shooting Rufus Wainwright for Soundvenue. It was the first show on his tour to promote his new album (besides a couple of private shows in London) and although he was fantastic musically, he didn’t play enough of his older hits that you would of hoped for. Instead he filled those gaps with his mother and fathers songs which some of his band members sung while he went offstage. That been said he recovered at the end playing a string of 4 hits back to back.

Tom Spray: Michael Kiwanuka

On Friday I was shooting hotly tipped BBC Sound of 2012 artist Michael Kiwanuka. I was pleasantly surprised to hear his voice is just as raw and soulful as it is on his record. There has definitely been a gap in the market for a voice like his.

Palm Reader and We Are Fiction @ The Grosvenor – 12/04/12 by MiCHELLE DUFFY.

I photographed my boys in Palm Reader on the first show of their tour with We Are Fiction.

Always so so easy to photograph Palm Reader; they always perform at their absolute peak with so much energy and passion. I think this is obviously conveyed through my photos; especially of front man, Josh.

We Are Fiction were very similar in that respect; so much energy which made them so interesting to watch and photograph. Really good live; I would definitely recommend seeing them live!

Enjoy!

Some Of Us Never Die, Esmeralda, Stars Of The Search Party, The Elijah and Closure In Moscow @ The Peel, Kingston – 10/04/12 by MiCHELLE DUFFY.

I really enjoyed shooting at this gig; all five bands had so much energy and passion!

The Elijah were so interesting to watch and shoot with various light shows and projections on the wall but sadly all of these features caused a power cut so their set was cut a bit short.

Closure In Moscow by far stole the show; SO entertaining and amazing live.

All in all, the funnest gig I’ve shot in a while!

Enjoy !
